Velotaxis are purpose-built trikes with electric assistence motors, are integral part of the urban transportation landscape in many of the world's greatest cities. Today , Velotaxi and its international network of cooperation partners is established in 34 locations worldwide and growing.

The presentation of Velotaxi took place on Tuesday 24th August 2004 at the foot of Acropolis with the presence of the Mayor of Athens Mrs Dora Bakoyannis, the Mayor of Berlin Mr Klaus Wowereit and Mr Otto Rehagel the Coach of the greek national football team.

Clean Up Greece supports Velotaxi. Mrs Carla Baer Manolopoulou , President of CUG says: "We do support Velotaxi, because it is an environmental friendly transportation, but it is fun as well" .
